Certainly before I ever understood it was somebody’s job – the Art Department, Production Designer, Set Decorator and that they get to help tell the story, elevate it, support it and to create the space, the physical context for it to unfold…
Those spaces and places are sometimes beautiful…sometimes ugly—always a framework for the narrative.
I get to help tell stories now too, not with words but with furnishings, textiles, layers of life and when we get it right, it’s magic...
